This study explores the area of mentorship and women in educational administration. The literature review defines the process of mentorship, looks at the need for female mentorship and the role of the mentor, and describes the benefits of mentorship. The second section relates the results of an interview process in which four female administrators were interviewed at length. The presence or lack of mentors in their careers was discussed as well as other significant influences. The findings indicate that mentorship played an important role in the formation of their decision to enter administration and continued to be an important source of encouragement throughout their careers.en
