Our imprudence is related to our confusion about the nature of
law, which, as Rémi Brague demonstrates in his The Law of God:
The Philosophical History of an Idea, derives from the modern rejection
of certain presuppositions of divine law found among the
three Abrahamic traditions, especially in the understandings expressed
during the Middle Ages.
