dc.description.abstract | This project is a journey of self-discovery to uncover the connection between my own espoused theory and theory-in-action. My theory is based on the belief that a principal is someone who serves students, staff, parents and community and acts in the best interest of an students. This study is an opportunity for me to reflect upon my practice and look for evidence of my beliefs in my actions. The ways in which a principal pays attention to particular components of the school environment will affect the effectiveness of the school. In this project, I examine the events that as school principal capture and hold my attention. Quite often, people in leadership positions can discuss their philosophical beliefs about education but have difficulty engaging in reflection to determine the alignment among the spoken word, the written word and actions. This project will attempt to test this alignment, to measure the fit between my beliefs and daily practice. | en |
