               <mods:abstract>The Lewis acid chemistry of [SF3][MF6] (M = Sb, As) salts with the nitrogen bases pyridine, acetonitrile, 1,10-phenanthroline and 4-dimethylaminopyridine (DAMP) is being explored, yielding 1:2 adducts for the mono-dentate bases and 1:1 adduct with the bidentate 1,10-phenanthroline. The crystal structures of α- and γ-[SF3][SbF6] are characterized for the first time along with that of [SF3][AsF6]. Preliminary results for the deoxofluorination of two ketones, carboxylic acids and an alcohol are being presented using [SF3][MF6] (M = Sb, As). &#xd;
Chemistry of WOF4 has been explored using SO2, [(CH3)4N][F] and a fluorinated aliphatic alcohol, CF3CH2OH. The products, i.e. WOF4∙SO2, [(CH3)4N][WOF5] and CH3CN∙WOF3(OCH2CF3) have been fully characterized by X-ray crystallography and Raman spectroscopy. &#xd;
Crystal structures of perfluorinated carboxylic acids and carboxylates of environmental concern are reported for the first time. &#xd;
The 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bifluoride (EMIMHF2) ionic liquid has been studied with solid-state MAS NMR spectroscopy at low temperature to explore its structural features.</mods:abstract>
